Position Summary:
Under general supervision, carries out procedures to ensure all information systems products and services meet company standards and end user requirements. Manages QA associates and tasks. Performs and leads testing of software to ensure proper operation and freedom of defects. Documents and works to resolve all complex problems. Reports progress on problem resolution to management. Devises improvements to current procedures and develops models of possible future configurations. Performs complex workflow analysis and recommends quality improvements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Creates and maintains project schedules to ensure all software has been tested. Determines test environment needs. Maintains internal and external testing environments including labs and test track environments. Maintains all documentation associated with testing, test cases, and defect reports.
2. Manages QA staff.
3. Identifies people, process, or technology changes required to improve overall customer service or to support business growth and opportunities.
4. Manages small to large project efforts using effective work planning and oversight practices.
5. Maintains and manages vendor relationships and contracts for products and services.
6. Coordinates tasks of QA staff.
7. Interacts with development during design and deployment. Participates in system definition meetings, project charter creation and review and status meetings.
8. Ensures adequate product testing prior to implementation.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
1. Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Information Systems or Business Administration.
2. Over 10 years progressive experience in information technology.
3. Over 3 years directly managing a staff, mentoring staff, developing others, and team building.
4. Over 3 years experience with large project management, system testing, and quality assurance.
5. Over 3 years experience with automated testing tools and techniques, including HP Quality Center/Mercury.
6. Demonstrated QA experience in an SAP environment.
7. Solid oral and written communication skills.
