Tens of thousands of libraries around the world use OCLC services to locate, acquire, catalog, lend and preserve library materials. We are currently seeking candidates for a Senior Software Engineer (Automated Tools Developer) position at our Corporate Headquarters in Dublin, Ohio.
The primary purpose of this job is to design, develop and implement processes and software to support OCLC enterprise-wide software development teams in the development and production installation of new and existing OCLC Products and Services.
Responsibilities:
-Partner with Development to design and implement an automated build process for building production code and deploy that code and other coupled software into a controlled test environment.
-Partner with Development, Production Control, Systems Support and Operations to design, document and implement automated processes and tools for staging, installing and hot-fixing production application systems.
-Collaborate with other OCLC sites to analyze, develop and implement processes and tools that support sharing of application code and test environments across the enterprise.
-Fully document processes and tools to allow less technical CMTE staff to provide configuration management and test environment support
-Provide complete configuration management support for assigned development and production systems.
Qualifications:
-Prior experience using Subversion (Svn), CVS, PVCS Version Manager, Visual Source Safe or other source control tools is required.
-Previous technical experience designing and writing automated tools (scripts) to support development build, deploy, rollback and hotfix processing.
-Three to seven years of source code configuration management or software development experience required.
-UNIX, Linux, Windows, Java, Perl experience is required.
-Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work/education experience is required.
-Strong team-oriented, interpersonal verbal and written communication skills required.
-Strongly motivated, self-driven and the ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
