AUTOMATED TOOLS DEVELOPER

We are currently seeking candidates for a Senior Software Engineer (Automated Tools Developer) position at our Corporate Headquarters in Dublin, Ohio.

The primary purpose of this job is to design, develop and implement processes and software to support OCLC enterprise-wide software development teams in the development and production installation of new and existing OCLC Products and Services.

Responsibilities:

-Partner with Development to design and implement an automated build process for building production code and deploy that code and other coupled software into a controlled test environment.
-Partner with Development, Production Control, Systems Support and Operations to design, document and implement automated processes and tools for staging, installing and hot-fixing production application systems.
-Collaborate with other OCLC sites to analyze, develop and implement processes and tools that support sharing of application code and test environments across the enterprise.
-Fully document processes and tools to allow less technical CMTE staff to provide configuration management and test environment support
-Provide complete configuration management support for assigned development and production systems.

Qualifications:
-Prior experience using Subversion (Svn), CVS, PVCS Version Manager, Visual Source Safe or other source control tools is required.
-Previous technical experience designing and writing automated tools (scripts) to support development build, deploy, rollback and hotfix processing.
-Three to seven years of source code configuration management or software development experience required.
-UNIX, Linux, Windows, Java, Perl experience is required.
-Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work/education experience is required.
-Strong team-oriented, interpersonal verbal and written communication skills required.
-Strongly motivated, self-driven and the ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.

We’re looking to add these persons to our Dynamics – Ax team, which is Microsoft’s major ERP offering. It is a large scale, distributed, multi-tiered application, central to any enterprise. Axapta provides the core business functions to an enterprise, integrates web services, and is highly customizable. We are currently developing at the core/kernel levels of the application.

Requirements:
4-8 years of experience in core development and/or testing
Extensive knowledge of computer science/algorithms and data structures fundamentals
C++, Java, or C#

Chemical Abstracts Service, a division of the American Chemical Society, has an immediate opening in its Information Technology division for a Manager, Online Services Assurance. The candidate will provide leadership and manage the department responsible for product and content testing, quality assurance, customer software support team, SciFinder operations, STN and Web services operations. The department is comprised of 45-50 staff and 20-25 contractors reporting to this position through 4 frontline managers.

Candidates must have:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, mathematics, or a scientific field with 7 to 10 years of related experience in the information technology industry.
• Management experience is required (3 to 5 years’ experience).
• Software testing and quality assurance experience on large applications (3 to 5 years’ experience).
• Knowledge of automated testing and software deployment in a multi-tiered architecture, including an awareness of existing and emerging technologies.
• Demonstrated experience in handling large scale project management in a complex IT environment (3 to 5 years’ experience).
• Ability to support the development of strategic plans and translate them into action plans to meet operational objectives.

QA Analyst – (HP PPM)

We are searching for an individual to take part in the creation and maintenance of the processes and procedures utilized within an organization here in Columbus, OH. These processes and procedures support the software development life cycle (SDLC) that maintains ERP production business applications as well as ongoing project work. Additional responsibilities of this position include the maintenance of departmental standards and communication of process/procedural changes to all impacted staff. This individual will work closely with Development and Quality Control staff to ensure the appropriate understanding and usage of toolsets and adopted policies and procedures. Candidate will gather necessary requirements for process update and coordinate implementation with Senior/Advanced Quality Analysts. Position requires the use of automated testing, workflow management, security maintenance and defect tracking tools that support testing application/system changes.

*Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in MIS, CIS, CS or similar is preferred.
- Hands on experience with HP PPM (Project and Portfolio Management).
- Within PPM- Administrative experience with workflow creation and security maintenance would be a plus and will be included in the role.
- Experience with the following software toolsets required: HP/Mercury/ITG, Quality Center.
- Experience with SQL Queries and Crystal Reports is a plus.
- Experience with Oracle.
- 3-5 years experience in a dedicated QA role.
- QA certifications are a plus.

Candidate must possess strong familiarity with Quality Assurance process, knowledge of business systems, and a thorough understanding of IT concepts and facilities. Strong analytical and communication skills are required to ensure comprehensive process, procedure, and standards are developed and maintained. Strong technical writing skills required. Must have experience with Microsoft desktop tools (Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) to assist with completion of assigned projects and tasks. Experience in creation of training materials and facilitation of training classes a plus. Backup support to other departmental areas will be required
