Overview:
OCLC is a nonprofit library service and research organization that has provided computer-based cataloging, reference, resource sharing, eContent, preservation, library management and Web services to 60,000 libraries in 112 countries and territories. OCLC and its member libraries worldwide have created and maintain WorldCat, the world’s richest online resource for finding library materials. We are currently seeking candidates for a Quality Engineer position in our Dublin, Ohio headquarters.
Responsibilities:
The person in this position will:
* Plan, design, execute, and verify testing for projects
* Test and analyze products at the UI and web services levels
* Coordinate test efforts of developers, QA Staff, and subject matter experts
* Design and document test environments
* Propose and participate in process improvements efforts
* Assist and advise supported projects to maintain compliance with the OCLC Quality System and ISO 9001
* Participate/moderate project life cycle documents
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in computer-related discipline or equivalent work experience and three to five years of technical or quality work (QA or QC) experience is required
* Experience in one or more of the following: Unix, Linux, AIX, JAVA, PERL, Oracle, Sybase and regression testing tools
* Professional certification such as the Certified Software Quality Engineer or Certified Quality Analyst is high desirable, but not required
* Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
* Working knowledge of Quality Assurance Methods is required.
* Ability to learn and adapt to new technology quickly is required.
* Strong analytical ability is required.
