We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Information Technology, Quality Assurance Manager in Morgantown, WV.

Responsibilities include:

Manage all aspects of quality within the IT System Development Life Cycle for Late Stage IT QA team Manage and direct the daily activities of the software test team
Ensure compliance with SOP’s, policies and procedures
Develop and manage project plans and metrics as they relate to specific IT QA project milestones
Work closely with the Manager of IT Project Management to ensure validation leads and associates are on time and within budget for all validation deliverables
Take direction from, and collaborate with the Director of QA, regarding compliance with Global SOP’s, policies, procedures and guidelines
Review test plans and test scripts across Development/IT Project Management
Collaborate with developers/test script writers to help create/facilitate test plans from functional specifications
Provide metrics to project management to help with resourcing and timelines
Participate in design reviews and testing efforts

Education and experience required:

Significant experience in managing a medium sized team (6-10 direct reports)
Extensive management experience in a software testing environment including test planning, test script development/execution and change management processes
Creative thinker who can drive new and innovative additions to the current processes
High motivation, self-sufficient, and the ability to operate effectively without close supervision
Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously with competing priorities
Experience with Web-based technologies (.NET)
3+ years of SQL experience (ie: SQL Server)
Experience with software development lifecycle
Excellent communications skills, with a proven track record of delivering high quality results under tight timelines
BS Degree in Computer Science or an equivalent combination of education & experience
Experience working in operations, quality assurance and information technology preferred
Minimum of 5 years experience within Pharmaceutical industry and 3 years experience of management experience

JOB SUMMARY: Manages activities and staff responsible for application analysis, and/or quality assurance and testing analysis functions. Assigns personnel to various projects and manages activities. Consults with personnel in other information systems sections to coordinate activities. Prepares activity and progress reports regarding the activities of the team.

* Partners with application development teams to mitigate production defects for projects related to web development, data warehouse development, and call center applications.
* Champions quality initiatives to improve overall delivery
* Manages resources to deliver on key commitments for projects and releases.

* Achieve defect reduction targets for new defect introductions and defect backlogs.

* Makes systemic improvement recommendations related to quality in project development.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Manages all activities and functions of application analysts involved with the analysis, definition, specification, development, testing, documentation and installation of new and/or existing applications.
2. Manages the activities associated with the definition and development of specifications as well as the programming and quality testing of technical modules, applications, prototypes and computer programs.
3. Manages one or more aspects of the systems development life cycle.
4. Evaluates project status and resource utilization and implements changes to improve the team’s effectiveness. Ensures all projects are completed within time and budget and are integrated with other software applications.
5. Responsible for feasibility studies, time and cost estimates, and the establishment and implementation of new or revised applications systems and programs.
6. Manages a staff involved in test planning, test requirement definition, test design, test script, test data development, test automation, test environment development and script configuration management as well as test execution.
7. Leads in the development and implementation of the overall strategic vision and integration of broad range ideas regarding business analysis, systems analysis, applications development, and/or quality assurance and testing capabilities.
8. Assists in the development and implementation of business analysis, systems analysis, applications development, and quality assurance and testing policies, standards, procedures and methodologies.
9. Position is a first-level manager and has direct responsibility for people management. In addition to project deployment, responsibilities include career development, performance management, and pay determination and communication.
10. Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, mathematics or related field is strongly preferred.

Experience: Eight years of experience in programming and systems analysis. Three years of experience in management is preferred.

Knowledge: Must have proven knowledge in computer programming language. Must have a thorough understanding in systems and data processing policies, practices and procedures. Must have a thorough understanding in systems analysis and design techniques. Must have expert knowledge of the systems development life cycle. Demonstrated knowledge of project management concepts and techniques required. Must have familiarity of financial statement preparation, budgeting and financial analysis concepts and techniques.

Skills/Competencies: Must be able to manage a staff responsible one or more components of the systems development life cycle. Must have the ability manage multiple teams that analyze applications and systems. Must possess strong problem-solving skills to determine the programming effects on existing systems. Must have strong decision-making skills for problem identification and solution recommendation. Must possess strong project leadership and management skills. Must be able to develop, implement and present applications development strategies. Must have strong written and oral communication skills to prepare and communicate programming plans and procedures as well as to interact with all levels within the company.

Project Description:
Extensive software QA testing experience (at least 5 years, prefer more)

All positions are to write and execute manual test cases
Ability to logically and systematically analyze and solve software problems
Define scope and objectives for complex quality testing projects.

Ability to express technical concepts and procedures clearly, precisely, and in easy to understand information, verbally and in writing

Develop and implement detailed, tactical project plans, goals and objectives for complex projects (includes designing, creating, and maintaining functional and integration test cases).

Troubleshoots and resolves or recommends solutions to a diverse range of complex software testing problems. Uses judgment within defined policies and practices (includes software and technical documentation solutions).

Identify and record defects with sufficient information for issue to be reproduced by development team. Collaborate with development team to reproduce issues.

Ability to learn and then train others on new applications

To qualify for one of the six positions, tester must also have experience in one of the following areas:

Position 1 – Tester must have experience testing a retail merchandising system with emphasis on the supply chain. They use Manhattan WM (Warehouse Management) and Jesta, but they are not required. Any RMS experience would be OK.

Position 2 – Tester must have experience testing a Purchase Order management application - any ERP experience is a plus. Person must understand the process behind buying, backend purchasing

Position 3 – Tester must have experience testing interfaces between complex software applications - this is a technical tester, NOT a

functional tester. This usually included being able to read and write code.

Position 4 – Tester must have experience testing an allocation/planning system (JDA - Arthur Allocation is what they use)

Position 5 – Tester must have experience testing Kronos application. Kronos is a MUST. This contract is for 5 months and this is for a Time and Attendance project.

Position 6 – Tester must have experience testing data warehouse and have strong SQL skills (at least 5 years db testing). This contract would be 6-8 months and is for the Rewards Refresh project in the Store Systems group.
